FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

To open a savings account, you need to visit your preferred bank branch or apply online (if the bank allows). You’ll be required to fill out an account opening form and submit Know Your Customer (KYC) documents such as proof of identity (like Aadhaar card, PAN card) and proof of address (like utility bill, rental agreement). You also need to provide a passport-size photograph and an initial deposit (if applicable). Once verified, the bank will issue you an account number, passbook, debit card, and cheque book.
Net Banking, also known as Internet Banking, is an online service provided by banks that allows customers to conduct financial transactions through the internet. You need to register for this service through your bank. Once registered, you will receive a User ID and password. After logging in on the bank’s official website or mobile app, you can check balances, transfer funds, pay bills, open deposits, request cheque books, and more—without visiting the branch. Always use secure networks and enable OTP for safe transactions.
If you lose your card, act quickly to prevent misuse. First, block the card immediately through your bank’s mobile app, Net Banking, or customer care number. Most banks also provide a toll-free emergency number for lost card reporting. After blocking, request a replacement card. It's also recommended to monitor your account for any unauthorized transactions and file a police complaint if needed. Some banks may require this complaint copy for further investigations.
You can update your mobile number or email address by visiting your bank branch and filling out a KYC update form. Some banks allow you to do this via Net Banking or mobile banking after logging in securely. You’ll typically need to authenticate the request via OTP or provide an ID proof. Keeping your contact info updated ensures you receive timely alerts for transactions and other important updates.
